THE ROYAL PALACE OF MADRID. HISTORY, ART AND PROTOCOL IN A MONUMENTAL SETTING

Built in the 18th century by the first monarchs of the House of Bourbon in Spain on the ashes of the old Alcázar of the Austrias, the Royal Palace of Madrid is one of the largest in the world and one of the few official residences of heads of state open to the public. Walking through its magnificent halls and rooms, discovering the armour kept in its Royal Armoury - the most important in Europe along with the Imperial Armoury in Vienna - or visiting the Royal Kitchen is like travelling back to a spectacular past that, however, coexists with intense activity: its halls and courtyards continue to host official events and cultural activities such as concerts, poetry evenings, conferences or temporary exhibitions...
